When Things Don't Work!

Everything is a mess at work. Our computer system is on the blink. The experts say that our server is on its way out. I have no idea what that means but I do know that nothing is working the way it is supposed to (ain't your fault Jeff) and that we may have lost a lot of information.

Last week I noticed a faint smell in my workshop. As the days went by the smell became worse. I figured that a squirrel had selected my garage for his burial site. (In the back of mind I also thought it could be a rat, however since Lori is so afraid of rats lets all say that it was a squirrel.) However, no squirrel was to be found. What I found was a dead freezer! I am sure there is something that smells worse than spoiled food in a contained space, but right now I cannot think of what that might be. It was awful.

Cleaning out the freezer was easier than I thought it would be. I hired Harold to do it. We, and I use the word "we" loosely, used Clorox, vinegar, and boiling water. "We" filled the inside with baking soda and charcoal and plugged it in. It works and I have been told that the smell will go away - just not anytime soon.

Isn't it funny that when everything works we fail to recognize what we have. We forget the computer systems that make life so much easier. We fail to notice freezers that store all the stuff we don't want to eat right now. However, when they fail to work we tend to notice very quickly. Last week we had so many of our church family work hard for this past weekend. They were cleaning, moving chairs, setting up video, and blowing up balloons. After services they were putting everything back to normal. Some saw the work being done and jumped in to help. Thanks! Churches in Memphis rolled up their sleeves and helped with Ben and Becky. It is amazingly easy to overlook all the work that goes on for good. However, when we fail to work - that just stinks!
