Good News, Good Times
It has been a great couple of weeks at University. First, and still fresh on, my mind is my daughter's baptism. I am so proud of Heather. Second, this past Sunday I had the opportunity to watch as my good friend Chuck baptized his son, Chase. I love the fact that Chase wrote on his card, "Sorry Mr. Jerry – I want my dad to baptize me." Third, we all had the privilege to welcome Rhonda Williams to our family. She responded to place membership and ask for prayers. Let me tell you how she made it to University. Buster and Yvonne Austin were eating at Krispy Kreme when they met Rhonda. Before the conversation got too far, they were enthusiastically inviting her to visit our church. She did and after several visits, made this a place she calls home. It is that easy!
I love our series that we are in on Sunday Morning. We are studying the rich teaching material of the Sermon on the Mount. We are calling it Extreme Makeover. However, the next couple of weeks we are going to put our series on hold and look at the cross and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This week we will explore, "Why the Cross?" April 12, we will look at "The Power of Resurrection!" I hope you will make plans to attend.
God has blessed us in so many ways. He is able to do more than we can think or Imagine.
