Sermons For The New Year

It is only the second week into the New Year and I already feel behind. My calendar that was pristine white just a few days ago is now colored with obligations. The office that I was going to organize, well it didn't happen. The shelf of books to read has spilled over to another bookcase. Dreams, plans, goals, and a strategy for the New Year challenge and motivate me. Is it crazy to be this overwhelmed so early?

Let me tell you some of the things that are going to happen in 2010. On Wednesday nights we continue our tradition of being fed @ 6:00 by George and being fed by God's Word @ 7:00. We have just begun a study of the Old Testament book of Malachi. What a relevant message for our day. I hope you will take part. As we will always offer a Bible study throughout this year we will also offer some special classes on parenting, financial peace, and prayer. Our Wednesdays will help us have a great week.

I am excited about our Sunday mornings this year. I am eager to preach a series on, "Calm In A Chaotic World!" I want you to have the peace of God in a world that has gone mad. Jesus has overcome the world. Later this year we will walk through the book of Nehemiah. He had a passion to rebuild walls and in the process he helped to rebuild a people. May God give us a dream to build and a mind to work. Our Sunday's will be better than Baskin Robbins.

Marriage first! In 2010 the first Sunday night of each month we will have a lesson on Marriage. We will begin in March with what the Bible says about marriage. After that we will look at what some current authors are saying about healthy marriages. One book I just purchased to read is Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. His question is: What if God Designed marriage to make us holy more than to make us happy? Wow! I can't wait to read it. It is on my shelf!
